Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas everyone!

We are slowly getting settled in our new place, as soon as it looks presentable, I'll post pictures of the whole thing, but for now I wanted to share our own little corner of Christmas with everyone. Please forgive the quality on the videos, as they were taken with my phone, we have yet to get a nice camcorder.

How long have you guys been married? 1 month, 4 days :)

How long did you date? 1 year, 8 1/2 months
Who eats more sweets? Chocolate is all mine, but give him some Nerds or Runts and he's more than content!
Who is the better singer? You don't want to hear him sing...trust me.
Who is smarter? Hmmm we're both a pretty balanced mix. He usually has more common sense than I do.

Who does the laundry? We both do, whoever is home and has the time. Or whoever (me) doesn't have to work at 5 am, so I make sure his work clothes actually dry...2 cycles.
Who pays the bills? Currently, we each pay our own personal ones and rent is a joint effort, but I will be the one dealing with the bills.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? looking at the bed, I'm on the right side
Who mows the lawn? He will be...I'm SO excited to have a lawn in two weeks!!
Who cooks dinner? Both, but usually Jake, as he gets off work at 130pm, and I'm not home til usually 530ish.

Who drives? Almost always Jake, but I LOVE to drive his car!

Who is the first to say they are wrong? Depends on the argument, lol!

Who kissed who first? He kissed me first, and it finally registered "He likes me!!" hahaha

Who asked who out first? Hmmm, we never really asked one another "out", our first date was really supposed to just be us hanging out, eating cereal and playing video games...neither of which happened. :)

Who wears the pants? Hahahaha, we heard a great joke about this at our reception, but I do, most the time.

Newlyweds

Oops! So I said you'd hear about the wedding in about a week..and here we are almost an entire month later! First and foremost, I am so glad the wedding is over! Much easier on the stress levels this way, lol. Forgive me, but I'm totally going to just copy something I typed up for WeddingBook, make a few adjustments and go from there. :)

So, October 18th, it was fantastic, but blew past so fast! It rained all morning as I had breakfast with my dad (a family tradition), and then the church was locked when I got there at 11, so Jake had to show up, (as my family pulled me away so we wouldn't see one another) to unlock the church. Thankfully, sometime between being shoved into a bathroom with my wonderful mothers and bridesmaids working on my hair and makeup the weather cleared up to a beautiful warm and sunny day.

Waiting to go down the aisle....holy crap, the whole time I thought I was going to walk in and just being a bawling baby, being carried down the aisle by my dad and step dad. Thank goodness it didn't happen like that. I walked in, saw Jake, and I couldn't stop smiling. I teared up during "I Will Be Here" which a friend of ours sang before we exchanged vows....which was slightly comical altogether. My wonderful husband had our own personal vows "ninja-d" inside his tux and totally pulled them out all smooth-like for our exchange.

Afterwards, it was a bunch of hugging and thanking people I didn't know, or possibly would know if I'd been able to look at them more than two seconds, lol. More than anything I wanted to be with my new husband. We finished all the formal shots while everyone else went to go enjoy the food for the reception. We got time for a few bites ourselves, then the toasts, tosses, cakes, and my favorite, the dances. I've never felt so alone in our little world. Of course everyone's favorite part we missed until afterwards, but my wonderful 4 yr old niece, Kylie, saw me dancing with my dad after Jake and commented loudly, as all children do () "I can't believe she's dancing with other men already!" Gotta love kids!

We then had our fake-exit which involved getting in our wonderfully stickered-up car.... scrapbook stickers...you know with the little foam backing...DO NOT go on windows! They're a pain in the butt to get off, lol. Anyway, back to the fake-exit, we pulled out of the church, and pulled back in the other entrance lol. Took more pictures and then headed off with the photographer to downtown, just the two ...er, three of us. That was a blast, unfortunately I don't have her pictures in yet...so you can enjoy these!

WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!

Yup, today is finally the day! That's pretty much it, all the details will come in about a week or so, after we get back from wonderful Orlando! Love you guys!!

It's October!!

And has been for almost 48 hours. Oh well, but still, the blessed month is finally here! And the stress is in some ways getting worse, and better in others. We had a interesting scenario come about this week, in which we had to secure a new officiant as we will no longer be getting married by the one we had planned on. But it wouldn't be a wedding if everything went according to plan, right?

A new possibility has also arisen this week, that we may actually try to find a house on the south side of Jacksonville. We'd be much closer to Jake's job in downtown, and let's face it, it's always nice to have SOME room to be independent, especially as newlyweds. And... there's obviously a larger job market for me in Jacksonville, than Camden County. We're hoping we'll be able to afford a two bedroom so we have room for guests....who am I kidding.... so we have room to game our lil' hearts content. And really, we could use the extra storage. We have a lot of junk....which I intend to be going through within the next 6 months.

Speaking of 6 months...that's also my goal on having finished our wedding scrapbook. Otherwise it might not get done until we're empty-nesters many years down the road! :)

Wedding Countdown

Alright so Jenn's last name may not be Leggett yet, but we're down to 28 days and most definitely counting! For those who don't know, October 18, 2008. Be there!

With less than a month to go, Jenn is super stressed and if Jake is...he hides it a lot better. I think his mindset is more on "Hey all I need to do is show up, right?" :) There's still so much to do!! But to finally join as one for eternity quickly dispels the anxiety.

Just a quick update on what's going on with us besides the wedding. Jake will be hitting his year mark with Maxwell House this next week which is really exciting. Jenn is at GameStop,....still. After the wedding we'll live in Jenn's apartment (in Jacksonville) for roughly a month and then when the lease goes up, hopefully we'll be moving into an apartment in Camden County, GA. It'll be a longer commute for Jenn (for a little while) but it gets us out of the hood!! Yay!! After the holidays Jenn wants to get a new job, so keep your eyes peeled Camden County folk.
